Donate to the Summit Historical Society

The Summit Historical Society, a unique all-volunteer organization, plays a vital role in preserving Summit’s history and making it available to the public. Our work not only protects and maintains the 1741 Carter House museum, the oldest house in Summit, and all the artifacts contained therein, but also contributes to the cultural richness of our community. We preserve Summit’s historical archives, including information about Summit’s families and homes, as well as historical records from Summit’s businesses and organizations. We also protect historical records and stories from Summit’s schools, athletic teams, clubs, and hospitals. These records are not just about the past; they are a living testament to the resilience and progress of our community, ensuring our community's past is not forgotten.

Our funding, crucial for our preservation efforts, comes exclusively from our members and other generous donors. As a 501(c)(3) charity, all contributions to the Summit Historical Society are not only a testament to your support for our mission but also tax-deductible, providing you with a financial benefit while helping us continue our important work. We are grateful for your support.
